Why Your Body Holds Emotional Pain

Emotional pain doesn't always disappear, even if long periods of time have passed.
If you have ever felt tightness in your shoulders, restriction in your breath, or an ache in your back, your body may be holding on to experiences that did not have the space to be fully felt.
When you experience emotions like grief, sadness and frustration, or you're living in stress and overwhelm constantly, but keep going, the trauma does not simply vanish. The body and nervous system hold and record it all.
They can show up as:
physical tension or unexplained pain
heaviness in your body
no energy no motivation
anxiety or a busy mind
feeling disconnected from yourself or others
Your body is not working against you - it is responding to what it has been through.
When you let go of life distractions and begin to slow down and listen, your body will speak to you in the language it uses to communicate with - sensation, and your job is to pay attention and become aware of what your feeling. Only in the present moment can you begin to shift and release what your body needs to shift.
This does not require reliving everything. It begins with a moment of stillness and focus when you feel safe.
If you are experiencing anxiety, emotional pain or physical tension, I offer support to find relief.
